Give Thanks And Then Share
I’m thankful for so much. And I hope you feel that way too. How wonderful that we’ve got a day set aside to pause and give thanks.
And then comes Black Friday….or for me, the Annual Day Off! Sitting on the couch, watching movies all day long. It’s an awesome day.
Before we do whatever we do on Black Friday, can I tell you about a wonderful, amazing charitable organization? I’ll make this quick.
Take a look at Note In The Pocket. Here’s their mission statement:
“We provide clothing to impoverished and homeless schoolchildren in Wake County with dignity and love. We believe that it is unacceptable for children to be limited in their educational and social development because they do not have appropriate clothes for school.”
There are kids who don’t have pants and shirts that fit their growing bodies. Kids of all ages, right through high school. They’re too embarrassed to go to school. Their parents are unable to provide them with what they need.
So until someone outside the family - like a social worker or teacher— is made aware of the problem and looks for help, those kids often stay home from school.
Right now Note In The Pocket is having a “Clothed in Confidence” campaign. Here’s a direct link to that page on their website. I ‘m giving you that link to make it easy for you to make a donation before the year ends.
Think about a child not having shoes, underwear or a coat. There are lots of children who lack these very basic needs. Their numbers are surprisingly big.
This world offers so much abundance, but it’s not equally shared. This is a very easy way to share a little bit and make a big difference in someone’s life. Going to school, clothed in confidence, is a very big deal.
You can donate even if you don’t live in Wake County, just because you care about all children.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I hope you always have what you need.
With sparkle and texture,
Anne
